Current Limiting Simulation of Magneto-biased Superconducting Fault Current Limiter (SFCL)Applied in 66 kV/10 kV Power Substation in China

The short-circuit fault currents in the large capacity transmission lines pose a challenge to stability and safety of power system. Magneto-biased superconducting current limiter (MBSFCL) is with advantages two-stage limiting, self-triggering fast recovery so that it can effectively reduce when applied urban This paper analyzes operation principle MBSFCL establishes package type magneto-thermal coupled simulation model based on MATLAB/SIMULINK. A system 66 kV/10 kV Zhang Tai Zi substation which Liaoning province China has been established grid-connected achieved. Moreover, test carried out, results current, quench resistance temperature change are obtained. comparison between verifies accuracy application feasibility MBSFCL.
